I had a meeting today with two men I deeply respect – Kyle Thompson and Malcolm Holland. Kyle has done vey well in the oil & gas industry and is an elder at Watermark Community Church – where we attend. Malcolm is the CEO of the Texas region of Colonial Bank and heads up the Operations Committee at Watermark.
The collective wisdom of these two men is phenomenal. They are both very bright but more importantly they are very much Kingdom minded. I sat down with them at Malcolm’s office and shared my executive summary. The asked some good questions and both affirmed that the idea had merit. Their counsel was two fold:
1) Run a pilot program to see what the response it
2) Consider making it an non-profit rather than a for-profit. Both agreed that the concept read more like a non-profit than a for-profit company and challenged me to process through the merits of both.
I felt really good about my time with these guys & the both offered to be a resource in the future. Good stuff…
