I leave tomorrow for Africa for 9 days. I’m headed to Burundi – a small country in central Africa – sandwiched between Rwanda (on the north) & Tanzania (on the south). My church partners with an organization called ALARM to help train government, civic & church leaders on conflict resolution, trauma healing & leadership. We’re sending three teams – one to Rwanda, one to Kenya and one to Burundi. I’m on an amazing team with some men & women that I just have a ton of respect for. Additionally, Mary (the wonderful attorney) is on the Kenya team – so we should have the chance to work on the 501(c)3 paperwork on the plane.
I’m really excited about this opportunity. I’ve had the chance to travel to Eastern Europe, China, Thailand, Costa Rica & some other spots – but never Africa. I’m hoping this trip helps confirm my desire to start Hupomeno.
