Today I sent out a somewhat random list of documents for my work permit. I’m told that DHL is the most reliable carrier to ship to Tanzania & that they would get the docs by close of business on Monday (though I’m a bit skeptical). I discovered that it’s also not cheap to send an express envelope to Tanzania – somewhere in the neighborhood of $96 USD.
Included in my shipment:
- 2 copies of an executed employment agreement
- 2 notarized copies of each person’s passport
- 2 copies of my CV/resume
- 2 notarized copies of my university diploma (James Madison University)
- 2 notarized copies of my graduate certification (Dallas Theological Seminary)
- 2 official transcripts from my university
- 2 official transcripts from my graduate school
- 10 passport size photos per person – yep…that’s 60 photos!
We should have a better idea of our departure date once the folks in Tanzania get this documentation and begin the work of obtaining the permit.

dont sweat DHL-I just bought a book online that shipped from mongolia and they had it here within 5 days.
Having dossier flashbacks yet? That’s what your list reminds me of.
