I leave for the airport in about a half an hour.  My flight path home takes me through Nairobi, Amsterdam & then on to Dallas.  I get into DFW about 1:20 p.m. on Monday afternoon.  The travel always wears me out but the anticipation of seeing Missy, Daniel, Caroline, Abigail & Lillian will provide more than enough motivation to keep my attitude positive.  Hopefully, my next trip to Africa will include all of them!  

We were hoping the work permit would come in this week but no such luck.  This means that our tentative departure date of April 10th will have to be pushed back – just not sure how far.  The uncertainty of our true departure date makes it really difficult to manage things like the sale of our vehicles (we’ve got buyers for both of them and we expected to complete the transactions sometime in the next week or so – but we also need vehicles as long as we’re here), also the rental of the house (we’ve got some really great folks who will be renting our house – but again, trying to nail down a move out date is tough).  Same thing with Daniel’s schooling in Tanzania.  So, if you think of us please pray that we would continue to trust in the goodness of God and the sovereignty of His plan for us.  He’s in all the details & we want to allow Him to guide this whole process.

And….just in case anyone is interested – I’ve put together a sweet playlist for my trip home.  Yes….there are some cheesy 80′s love songs on there & yes, some might seem unrelated to the topic of “going home” – but that’s how I roll.   I also confess to being somewhat of a sap for the power ballads!! Do your best to try and keep up with the most awesomest “Goin’ Home” playlist ever!!
