Well…as of today we still don’t have the work permit. I suppose in theory it could come any day now. We figure once it comes we’ll need about two weeks to tie up the loose ends and then we’ll head over.
In the mean time it looks like I’m headed back to Africa – this time for a 9 day trip to Tanzania. One of the big initiatives this year is the implementation of a new core banking system. We’ve been trying to put off the launch until I arrive but it looks like we can’t wait any longer. We’ve got a team coming in from India for about six months to take care of the implementation & they arrive on 4/27/09. I’ll head over to participate in the pre-implementation meetings.
I just booked my tickets….leaving Dallas on 4/24/09 & get back on 5/3/09. This will be my third trip to Africa this year…I feel like I’m getting far too familiar with KLM & the Amsterdam airport.
